Ok, I have not updated in a while, but I HAVE TO, absolutely have to cover this eclipse. It's pretty big. Solar eclipses that happen on a cusp are usually pretty powerful stuff, and this one is no exception. It started last night (Tues night) and its influence will be felt throughout this week into next week.
Eclipses always herald pretty intense changes in our lives, and since this one is a solar one on the Cancer-Leo cusp (meaning we are moving from the astrological sign of Cancer into Leo). It also means that the sign who has more solar power will be the dominant one in this pairing, in this case Leo (a fire sign, ruled by the sun). But, in combination with Cancer, and its watery, feminine energy, this could be a pretty murky feeling to feel and to express to the outside world.

The solar aspect of this eclipse (the Leo sign) is telling us that whatever we are feeling has to be communicated in a clear and direct manner (solar energy is always clear and direct, and dominating). In this pairing, Cancer represents the unconscious feelings in our psyche, things that we might feel or say, and are afraid to give shape to. That's what Leo can help with. This is a good male-female energy pairing, as Cancer is the archetype of the mother and Leo of the father.
Cancer is the aspect of us that is really sensitive, cares for others and what they think about us, and is only thinking of safety and protection. But Cancer can also be stifling and manipulative, and such an example would be when we don't tell people exactly what we feel about them, in order to protect their feelings and sensitivities. That's called withholding information, or rather censoring the information we share with others, in order to save us a confrontation with them. However, it would be a lot easier
for us if we actually DID tell people sometimes exactly what we think/feel about them, and here is where the Leo energy in this eclipse can come in handy. In this aspect, it manifests as an IMPERATIVE need to tell people exactly what we feel about them, and exercise clear and direct communication of our deepest feelings. This might make other people feel bad, and it might hurt their self image for a while, but in the end speaking the truth is always the best thing we can do, regardless of how many feelings get hurt. Isn't it better to know where you stand in a relationship? And isn't it better to let the other person know, so they also know exactly where they stand in relationship to you? I think so, and this solar eclipse gives you the opportunity to do exactly that.

It's hard to tell people what is on our minds and in our hearts, especially when we don't know how they will react, and how such communication will impact the relationship. In the end, you are taking a risk by being honest with another person, and you will need courage. Leo has plenty of courage (the Lion of the zodiac, ruled by the sun) and you can borrow some from his in this eclipse. You will need it, if you are to properly give shape and form to the words coming out of your mouth, words shaped by unconscious, watery, nebulous feelings floating around your psyche, the domain of Cancer. It's where Cancer is at its most powerful, the sign of feelings and intuitions that come and go into nowhere, and sometimes leave us more confused than before. Hunches that come from out psyche can be scary. If not properly handled, they can take us into ourselves deeper than we care to go.
That's why structure is important, and that's why this is a solar eclipse you should take advantage of, when it comes to communicating to those closest to you. So go ahead, sink into the energy of the eclipse, and take time to yourself and silence your mind. Pay attention to the feelings that come up, images of people around you, musings and thoughts. All those images are trying to tell you something. This eclipse is a good opportunity to listen to those feelings and those images from your psyche, and make the most of them by acting out on them. Using the power burst and courage Leo gives you, you might just be able to do that :)
Good luck.
very interesting read! i'm a Leo so I was totally into it (haha!). as a Leo I must say I concur with that I have a tendency to be rather overt, at times offensive, and always too much for people. but you probably won't meet a person who doesn't know exactly what i think about them. and i like MOST people. but i HATE my brother in law. the end. (and then i found five dollars).
